So Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself, unless He sees the Father doing it. For whatever the Father does, the Son also does.
No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. John 3.13
I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. 15 But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16 And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.”
So you see, the Son is not an always existing 2nd person of the trinity in heaven, neither is He a created mortal human being who was used as a human sacrifice who has now turned into a Spirit. But it is God Himself who came to earth to set up His everlasting kingdom on earth while still being in heaven at the same time.
That is why the Son can do nothing by Himself, because He is not a separate self! He and the Father are One and the same Spirit - God Almighty bringing His kingdom to earth, so that our soul, which is in the dying flesh, can be reconciled to The Spirit of Life again, so that when our flesh dies, Jesus (who is the Spirit of Life) takes us home into His heavenly kingdom - the bridegroom has come for His bride to take her home.
So for God to save us from this dying flesh and eternal damnation, He too came in the likeness of a dying flesh (Romans 8.3) which served as a veil (Hebrews10.20) because no one can see God in all His glory and live, and of course it also served as a vehicle to spill His holy blood Acts 20.28
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh .Hebrews 10.19/20
Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. Acts 20.28
Veiled in this flesh, hidden to those who had not yet had the spiritual revelation that Peter would have in Matthew 16:16, He walked the earth as just a son of man and spoke Truth - hence He was called the word of God in John 1. Not because He was a separate entity to the Father, but because God spoke while He was on earth with us.
"Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call Him Immanuel" (which means, "God with us") Matthew 1:23
Note: God with us, not God with Jesus.
The Son can do therefore nothing without the Father because the Son is not separate from the Father. Son & Father are One and the same Holy Spirit in two places at the same time.
Which leads us to the next part of the scripture:
He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you 1 Peter 1.20
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
And of course, God is the God of love. Indeed, God is Love 1 John 4:
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
God is self sacrifice, that is why He is the Creator. He is in a constant state of sacrificing Himself/serving/loving as He creates and thereby gives life, an everlasting eternal, never ending life. Everyone who is connected to God will therefore be eternally alive in Him. In return, His creation glorifies Him.
So when the Creator stopped creating on the seventh day, He sacrificed who He was; but of course in that moment of ceasing to create, He created something that would save the world from their sins:
and God completeth by the seventh day His work which He hath made, and ceaseth by the seventh day from all His work which He hath made. Genesis2.2 YLT
When the Holy Spirit stopped creating, He created something spiritual and holy and this spiritual "holy thing" was then blessed and sanctified, set apart.
And God blesseth the seventh day, and sanctifieth it, for in it He hath ceased from all His work which God had prepared for making. Genesis2.3 YLT
At that point He had not called this Holy Thing "Sabbath", nor Jesus Christ. Remember, there was no sabbath, no 10 commandments nor "Jesus Christ" in the garden of Eden. In fact, the carnal "sabbath" of the Old Testament was as a sign between and foreshadow of God and His spiritual children, the Christians.
Yet, this holy thing had already been "created" by God sanctifying Himself in heaven. And it would be made manifest to us in the last days:
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. Luke 1.35
He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you 1 Peter 1.20
Remember, God had prophesied that He would establish His kingdom on earth, that He would be Father and He would be Son. So that "holy thing" that had been created by God's sacrifice in heaven, was to be born out into the world, not created but made manifest.
It was vital that the "Holy Thing", which is essentially the love of God, would be made manifest on earth.
In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 1John4.9
How else were we to enter into the spiritual refuge that had been created for us in heaven, while we were yet in the flesh on earth? It was only possible by God Himself coming to earth, veiled in flesh, and speaking Truth, so that we could hear the word of Christ/Truth and believe it. Because
faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17
Yet God had planned to save us from this death, He came to earth that He could reconcile us back to Himself again (our soul will be one again with the life giving Holy Spirit). To make us yet again in the image of God, the incorruptible seed.
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 Peter 1:23
That is why Jesus Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath (eternal rest), and the eternal rest was made for mankind. Jesus is the Shepherd who leads us into this eternal rest, the Eternal Sabbath, through faith in Him (Jesus is the Gospel)
And He said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. 28Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” Mark 2
Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said:
“So I swore in My wrath,‘They shall not enter My rest,’
”although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5 and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.” Hebrews 4
Jesus Christ is our Sabbath, Eternal Rest, because IN Him, we rest from our wicked works. When we are born again and Christ dwells in us, we bear His holy fruit, and have ceased from our wicked works. Therefore Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath, not a created human being or 2nd of the trinity, but God Almighty who sanctified Himself so that His holy name be spoken on earth and He be glorified in His holy children.
I hope I was able to demonstrate to you, why it is vital that we are born again while we are here on earth, born of the Spirit of God. It is the only way we can be reconnected to God and thereby enter into the refuge that God has created for us in heaven, His kingdom.
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water (flesh birth, birth water) and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3.4
So what exactly do we have to believe in to become born again? The Good News, the Gospel. But before I share with you what God did to save us, I want you all to understand why God sanctified Himself in heaven; yes, to save us, but most of all, so that He would be glorified. Let's go to Ezekiel 36
Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 17 “Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own ways and deeds; to Me their way was like the uncleanness of a woman in her customary impurity. 18 Therefore I poured out My fury on them for the blood they had shed on the land, and for their idols with which they had defiled it. 19 So I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed throughout the countries; I judged them according to their ways and their deeds. 20 When they came to the nations, wherever they went, they profaned My holy name—when they said of them, ‘These are the people of the Lord, and yet they have gone out of His land.’ 21 But I had concern for My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations wherever they went.22 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went. 23 And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord,” says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes.
You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. John5
Then He told them, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24That is why I told you that you would die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” John 8
But of course, God did not only die for His friends as spoken of in John 15.13, indeed we were all enemies of God when He laid down His life for us, we were all rebelling sinners at the time, doomed for eternal separation and damnation. Nevertheless,
God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans8.5
Christ is not a separate entity, a separate son who was sent by his separate father to be sacrificed; that is a sacrifice the Lord always hated and still hates:
They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons. 38They shed innocent blood— the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood. 39They defiled themselves by their actions and prostituted themselves by their deeds. Psalms 106
Christ is God Himself on earth who made an end to the continuous sacrifices, by bringing mercy:
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:13
God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.
